Al Fursan Emarat to perform aerial displays at Abu Dhabi F1 weekend

Yas Marina Circuit revealed Al Fursan Emarat will perform an additional aerobatic display at this weekend’s 2016 Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
In addition to its traditional pre-Abu Dhabi Grand Prix race display with an Etihad Airways A380 superjumbo over the start line on Sunday (at 4.47pm), the seven Aermacchi MB-339 jet aircraft of Fursan Al Emarat will also be thrilling the 60,000 capacity crowd with an extra show on Saturday, scheduled to take place at 4.15pm.
Led by Captain Nasser Al Obaidli, the display will include an array of breath-taking aerial maneouevres that include ‘corsair loop’, ‘swan right barrel roll’, ‘flag cross’ as well as the signature ‘UAE DNA’.
Flown at a minimum height of 100 feet to a maximum of 6,000 feet above the Circuit, the display is a six-month culmination of intense daily training and the pilots are all drawn from the UAE’s armed forces, with new recruits joining the team on rotation every year.
Captain Al Obaidli, said: “It’s a great honour and I am very proud to be representing my country and leading the two displays at the 2016 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, which will help cement the event’s global reputation as a thrilling visual spectacle and must-attend weekend.”
